FAQs:

Food: What will we eat?
Breakfast and lunch are hosted at the University's food court.  Some students chose to bring their own food (brown bag), most eat at the University's many options that include: Chick-fil-A, Paavo's Pizza, Boss Burgers, Sandwich Shop, Home Cooked Meal (breakfast and lunch), Salad & Soup Bar, Cocina Mexican, and Starbucks.  The cost for meals on campus generally ranges from $8-14 depending on your order.
For dinner, the overnight campers will work with the dorm monitors to order food and have it delivered.  This usually includes pizza, sandwiches, pasta, etc.   Students often bring bottled water, snacks, and breakfast items to keep in their dorm room.  Cash is usually the best option for them.  Click here for more on dining.

Rooming: Who will I share a room with?
Roommates are paired together based on gender and similar age.  More information and waivers come through the University at registration.  We have both a female and male dorm monitor.

Curfew: Students will need to be in their dorm rooms by 10:00pm for a room check.  Students will receive a courtesy wake-up knock at 7:30am for an encouraged breakfast.

Activities: What will we do at night?
Our evening activities are moderated by the dorm monitors.  Events planned include:
  • scavenger hunt on campus
  • practice night
  • movie night

Activities: Do we just play flute?
You will play your flute. A lot. But the day is broken into segments with other activities to allow rest. These may include:
  • coloring contest (prizes!)
  • trivia (prizes!)
  • scale challenges (prizes!)
  • nature walk
  • yoga, breathing exercises (Dr. Allison is a certified yoga instructor)
  • theory / composition class
  • audition preparation workshop
  • industry Q&A - meet people who work in other music careers like instrument sales and instrument repair

Packing: What to bring?
More information comes later.  But a quick list to consider includes:
  • comfortable clothes and shoes for camp
    • these are long days, in often very air conditioned rooms
    • movement will be encouraged including campus walks, nature trail walks, & yoga
